Principia School Campus Master Plan
Project Story
Principia School engaged Christner Architects to complete a Campus Master Plan focused on furthering excellence in learning and sustainability, both key goals of the school. Excellence in learning centered around spirituality, pedagogy, and “the whole student”, while sustainability was viewed through four lenses – the student community, the faculty/staff community, financial sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

The Work
Along with these principles, several months of assessments and analysis – including space use and facility condition assessments – laid the groundwork for the master plan’s initial development and design. Through a series of task force meetings, which allowed input from the faculty and administrative leadership, the master plan was carefully refined.
The final deliverable includes a ten-to-fifteen-year master plan with details on phasing, project prioritization, programming, and pricing. An environmental sustainability plan, a landscape plan, an accessibility and safety plan, and a facilities condition assessment with pricing to upgrade failing MEP systems, were also included.
