Haven of Grace

Christner has partnered with The Haven of Grace, a local non-profit organization committed to helping young women who are pregnant and homeless. They provide a place to live, educational programs, and long-term support to break the chain of generational poverty. Each young woman helped by The Haven of Grace becomes a stronger member of our community and eventually can begin giving back to those who helped her move forward.

Most recently, volunteers from Christner spent a Saturday with The Haven of Grace to renovate their building’s central courtyard into a space that better reflects the organization’s mission. Our team of architects, landscape architects and interior designers collaborated to create an oasis for residents and staff. Installation of sunshades, lush plantings, fresh upholstery, decorative lighting, rugs and accents completely transformed the outdoor living space providing a resort-like feel for the shelter’s families.

Community Impact

Aim High

For the past seven years, Christner has partnered with Aim High to help further their mission of providing middle school youth from high-risk environments with educational and social enrichment programs. Each year, we host a group of St. Louis area students at the Christner office to talk about careers in design and construction. They learn how architecture, design and engineering fields work together to create things we need and use in our daily lives. Putting what they learn into practice, students are challenged with building a treehouse and then give a brief presentation about their design. Architects and engineers are on hand to talk about their career paths and daily job responsibilities.
