Volunteers from Christner recently spent a Saturday partnering with The Haven of Grace to renovate their building’s central courtyard into a space that better reflects the organization’s mission. Our team of architects, landscape architects and interior designers collaborated to create an oasis for residents and staff. Installation of sunshades, lush plantings, fresh upholstery, decorative lighting, rugs and accents completely transformed the outdoor living space providing a resort-like feel for the shelter’s families.

About the Mission: The Haven of Grace fills a need in the community to help young women who are pregnant and homeless. They provide a place to live, educational programs, and long-term support to break the chain of generational poverty. Families begin a new path – one that leads to independence, stability, and self-sufficiency. Each young woman helped by The Haven of Grace becomes a stronger member of our community and eventually can begin giving back to those who helped her move forward.

The Haven of Grace was opened in 1988 in North St. Louis City by parishioners from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church who saw a growing need for these services
